    This course provides tools and techniques to extend Dynamics 365 On Premise to meet business requirements.

    The course begins with an overview of Microsoft Dynamics 365 architecture and the different ways in which Dynamics 365 can be customised and extended using tools inside and outside of Dynamics 365.

    The course then examines the different techniques and methods for accessing Dynamics 365 programmatically through the WCF, SOAP, OData and Web API web services.

    There are many different ways to query Dynamics 365 data and the course looks at the different methods by which data can be queried through code. The Pros and Cons of each approach is examined.

    The course then looks at reporting options for Dynamics 365 and the reporting tools available to developers.

    Processes are examined in greater detail than the customisation course, in particular looking at when to use processes vs code and business rules and JavaScript.

    The course then focuses on server side code i.e., plugins and custom workflow assemblies. The course looks at how to build, deploy and debug server side code.

    The focus of the course now changes to the client side starting with using JavaScript within the form and the Xrm.Page model.

    Following on from client side scripting the course looks at how to develop more complex user interfaces with client side code, namely the use of REST web services to interact with 365 data and the building of HTML web resources.

    The user interface is important and the course examines ways by which the user experience can be enhanced.

    The course will investigate different ways to integrate with Dynamics 365 and includes passing information to and from Azure.

    The course finishes with discussion on using the techniques demonstrated and best practice to solve requirements.

    A non-trivial case study will be used throughout to demonstrate how to design and build a solution to meet business needs.
