    This course is designed to serve the needs of systems and field engineers, consulting systems engineers, technical solutions architects, and Cisco integrators and partners who install and implement Cisco Nexus 5000 Series Switches and Cisco Nexus 2000 Series Fabric Extenders. This course covers the key components and procedures required to configure, manage, and troubleshoot these Cisco Nexus platforms in the LAN, SAN, and unified fabric environments.

    Mål

    Upon completion of the course, students will have the knowledge and skills to:

     

    • Understand the Cisco Nexus 5000 Series system architecture
    • Understand the features, architecture, and usage of the Cisco Nexus Operating System (NX-OS) Software
    • Configure the Cisco Nexus 5000 Series switches to support FCoE protocol, LAN operation, VXLAN, and SAN switching
    • Configure virtual port channels (vPC) on the Cisco Nexus 5000 Series Switches
    • Understand, configure and utilize the management features of the Cisco Nexus 5000 Switch, including the 5600 models and the Nexus switch management tools
    • Configure Cisco Nexus 2000 Series Fabric Extenders for operation with the Cisco Nexus 5000 Series Switches
    • Configure Quality of Service (QoS)
    • Configure user management and user security
    • Implement and use key functionality, technologies, and/or features focused on: FCoE, SAN, LAN,VXLAN, FabricPath, Cisco NX-API, Python, and In Service Software Update (ISSU)
    • Implement structured troubleshooting processes and skills using Cisco Nexus 5000 Series switches, available tools and resources relating to LAN, SAN, and FCoE

    DCNX5K v 3.1 is updated to include features available in Cisco NX-OS Software Release 7.0(2)N1(1) for Nexus. This includes but not limited to the following: • New Modules:

      • VXLAN on Cisco Nexus 5000 Series Switches
      • Cisco NX-API and Python on Cisco Nexus 5000 Series Switches

    New Features:

      • Complete course and lab exercise revisions against Cisco NX-OS Software Release 7.2
      • DFA update

    Removed:

     

    • Removed Cisco Nexus 6000 Series lesson
    • Shortened Cisco Nexus 2000 FEX section
    • Replaced Cisco Nexus 5500 with 5600 in the lab topology
    • Added ITD lesson
    • Enhancements in RISE / NAM section
    • The DCNX5K v3.1 lab topology is the same as the existing DCNX5K v3.0 lab topology in order to minimize changes to hardware and software and facilitate CLP adoption
    • Nexus 5000 Series switches, including Cisco Nexus 5600
    • Shortened Cisco Nexus 2000 FEX section
    • Added new Cisco Nexus 5000 Series switches, including Cisco Nexus 5600
